3.  How do I become a DTU member? 


See the “Become A Member” on the DTU webpage menu. Fill out the member application and an invoice for member fees will be sent to you for payment. Membership dues are due January 1 and are good for a whole year.


4. Can my studio participate in the convention without competing?


Absolutely! You can register for the convention by clicking on the registration link and signing into DanceBug.


5. Can I compete without participating in the convention classes?


No, Competitors must be registered for the convention classes.


6. How do I contact DTU about the Dance Teachers Retreat?

7. How do I get media from the recent DTU event?


Studio owners will be able to access media through their dance bug account.  It’s FREE to all your dancers and you. The studio owner, doesn’t have to take additional steps. 


8. How do I get my studio critiques from the recent competition?

Studio owners will be able to access critiques through their dance bug account.


9.How do I watch the Live Stream?

Click the Live Steam tab in the DTU webpage menu.


10. What is the DTU event schedule?


The schedule will be sent out to registered studios the week of the event. The competitions will be on Friday afternoon and Saturday (fall and winter).  The conventions will be held on Sunday (fall).  Competition all day on Friday (in the summer) with Convention Saturday and Sunday (in the summer) .


11. Do I have to come to the whole weekend of the Dance Teacher Retreat?


No, you can come all programmed days or just one. You are welcome to participate where you can. There is no cost to current members for participation in the Dance Teachers Retreat. You will be responsible for making your overnight accommodations.


12. Can I register my studio for more than one DTU competition/ convention?


Absolutely! DTU offers different judges and guest faculty at each event. This makes each event different for competitors and classes.


13. Can Parents watch their dancer/s during convention classes? 


Yes! They will need to purchase an observer band.


14. What is the deadline for registering for a DTU event?


3 weeks before event date


15. Is there a fee to watch the competition?


No, there is no fee to watch the competition. 


16. Do I have to be a DTU Member to register for conventions?


Only current DTU Members may enter and compete in the DTU Competition of Excellence.  Anyone can register for the convention, however there is a significant discount for DTU members in good standing.
