DTU Dance Krewe: (n.) an auditioned dancer who trains currently with a DTU member in good standing and who then tours with DTU to assist our guest faculty and the DTU Board throughout the dance season.
If an eligible dancer wishes to become a member of the DTU Dance Krewe (Guest Faculty and Board Member Assistant at DTU conventions and competitions) he or she must attend a minimum of two conventions/competitions for the following year (for one season only - Fall through Summer).
To be eligible, the dancer must be age 14-18 and currently enrolled in high school.
The dancer will audition by submitting in a 60-90 second video of their talents. They must introduce themselves at the beginning of the video to include what studio they also attend.
There is a $50.00 application fee due upon submitting the application and video.
All dancers chosen will be notified through their teacher by email.
Those dancers chosen will have several opportunities to support DTU; dancers will grow far beyond their experience on the convention weekends, dancers will learn and perform a group routine in our closing shows, dancers will learn all genres of choreography quickly, dancers will attend the chosen conventions with free tuition, dancers will be allowed to compete with their teams (competition fees
apply), dancers will have special DTU Dance Krewe dance wear and jackets (wardrobe fees will be assessed), plus many more unique opportunities (service hours will be also be allowed for our events through proper documentation).
